New 2024 Expert Recommendations for Managing Food Allergies in Schools
Join us to learn the latest expert recommendations and simple things you can do right now to make any school a supportive, safer environment for children living with a food allergy. Whether you are a caregiver, teacher, school administrator, or school nurse, this webinar will provide something for you. During this program, the presenter will review the recommendations from the recently published “Food Allergy Management in Schools (FAMS): Expert Recommendations,” a document developed by FARE in close collaboration with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and an Advisory Council of school nurses, physicians in allergy/immunology, food allergy patient advocacy groups, legal experts, and dietitians. These expert recommendations have also been endorsed by 15 school and allergy-related organizations.
The FAMS: Expert Recommendations document is a supplemental update to the Voluntary Guidelines for Food Allergies in Schools.

Christine Creter is a mom to a 13-year-old son with 15 life-threatening food allergies as well as EOE and manages 5 food allergies of her own. She is a learning strategist and professional facilitator in the health care industry. She started Creter Group, Inc., a learning and performance company, in 2005. Christine and her team designed the FARECheck program geared toward educating food service employees in schools, higher ed, and restaurants. Christine serves on the FARECheck ANAB Advisory Board and is a volunteer Master Trainer for K-12 schools, colleges, universities, soup kitchens, pre-K, retail establishments, and large corporations. She and her team also led the Food Allergy Management in Schools initiative over the last year. Christine and her son are active in Food Allergy Advocacy and work to help educate others and promote inclusivity.
